Dear readers! Welcome to the second edition of Sepson News.

This is our channel where we inform you about news and happenings at Sepson and the world of winches. If there is anything you want us to write about, please send me an e-mail and we’ll try to make you wishes come true.

Sepson winches are used on rescue and recovery vehicles, cargo trucks, trailers and heavy equipment transporters, armoured fighting vehicles, off road vehicles, tractors, loaders and earthmovers, fire engines, high tension line stringing rigs and many other applications. Despite the financial uncertainties in the world, and especially in Europe, Sepson is going well. In August 90% of last year´s sales was reached and the orders for 2013 is starting to drop in – Something that we are very thankful and humble for.

Since the last issue we have been in the Paris’ and London’s shows, we have introduced the new LoadReader feature on some of our winches and we are planning to extend our paint department. Please read more about it below.

As usual we exhibit our products and showed new features at Eurosatory in Paris. We showed our new external constant pull force device. And we showed our new LoadReader. We met a lot of new and old friends where some of them are very interesting for future cooperation. This year’s Eurosatory was bigger than ever with 1.432 exhibitors from 53 countries that showed their products on 163.523 sqm of indoors and outdoors exhibition area. During the fair’s five days 53480 visitors from 129 countries and 152 official delegations from 84 countries + EU + NATO visit the fair. Eurosatory is the only exhibition that is dedicated 100% to land security. See you in Paris next year!

Sepson will participate at IDEX 2013 in Abu Dhabi next year. The International Defense Exhibition and Conference (IDEX) is the most strategically important tri-service defense exhibition in the world. IDEX is the only international defense exhibition and conference in the MENA (Middle-East, Near-Asia) region demonstrating the latest technology across land, sea and air sectors of defense. It is a unique platform to establish and strengthen relationships with government departments, businesses and armed forces throughout the regio. Read more about the fair at www.idexuae.ae

Stockholm’s Towing Service AB is Sweden’s largest roadside assistance company. The company has about 20 tow trucks and service vehicles that operate in and around the capital of Sweden. With the help of Sepson they have now rebuilt a Russian armored vehicle to a tow vehicle with Sepson winches. The Armour Band Wagon Salvors MTLB 4012 will be an extremely strong vehicle in the salvation business.

Sepson’s new unique feature makes salvage work safer. With Sepson’s LoadReader, the tension in the rope continuously is visible and the users can work more efficient by adapting to the generated force. The risk of overloading the attachment points on the recovery object is minimized. The LoadReader helps users to avoid unwanted situations in the salvation work to occur.

The master smith Sars Erik Petterson founded Sepson in 1900 in Dalarna in the middle of Sweden. His main skill was to make tools and handling equipment for the surrounding forestry industry, where pulling and lifting are key activities. The picture shows a Sepson innovation from the year of 1952. It’s the jeep mounted winch ”Record” made for recovery after jamming in the woods. Sars Erik was known to be strong as an ox and very accurate in his work – A heritage that we are working every day to keep up.
